Main Track is for dancers at an intermediate level and above who want to strengthen fundamentals, develop greater depth and build cleaner, more consistent execution. Advanced Track is for advanced and highly experienced dancers who are comfortable with a faster learning pace and more complex material, and placement into it requires an Advanced placement test. Both are serious training environments — the difference is not which track is better, but which pace and level of material will help you progress most. If you register for Advanced there is nothing to do at checkout — placement is handled in May and June 2027, and we send you everything you need closer to the time. That placement is also valid for the Mamboland ESM Advanced Track, so dancers attending both only go through the process once.

Register for the Advanced Track when you book, complete the placement test we send you, and we confirm your track before the event. There is no rush and nothing to prepare at checkout: placement is handled in May and June 2027, in the months before the training, and we come to you when the time comes. It exists to build the right room rather than to judge anyone: it lets the teachers work at an advanced level from the first hour, and it means everyone in the room can learn at the same pace. One test covers the whole week — an Advanced placement applies to both the Mambo Experience training and the Mamboland ESM Advanced Track, so you never qualify twice.

Placement is handled in May and June 2027, in the months before the training — not at checkout. Booking does not start a clock: choose the Advanced Track when you book, and we come to you with everything you need closer to the time. There is nothing to prepare and nothing to send in the meantime, and you will know which room is yours well before you travel.

The placement test is designed to put every dancer in the environment where they will get the most from the training. If you are not placed in Advanced you train in the Main Track instead — a serious Intermediate+ environment focused on depth, development and stronger execution, not a beginner room. Where it applies, the same placement also determines your track for the Mamboland ESM congress.

Track changes are handled case by case before the event and depend on availability in the track you want to move to. Moving into Advanced also means completing the Advanced placement test, which runs in May and June 2027. Contact us as early as possible.

No. You register as an individual in your role, and you rotate through the room during partnerwork. Registration details for leader and follower balance are confirmed closer to the opening of sales.

Each track takes 50 dancers, and tracks and roles sell separately — Main can still have space when Advanced is full, or leads when follows are gone. Once a track or role is full it is closed; we open a waitlist and contact people in order as places free up, but a place is never guaranteed.

No. Passes are non-refundable, so please be sure of your dates before you book. If your plans change, write to us and we will tell you what is possible.

No. The Mamboland ESM congress is included with the Full Experience Pass only, and that includes its workshops, not just the socials. The Mambo Experience Pass covers the Monday–Thursday training. Mamboland ESM is a separate congress and brand.

Come early if you can. Training starts Monday July 26 at 11am, but the weekend before it is when a lot of the city's socials and one-off events happen — flying in on Friday July 23 or Saturday July 24 buys you two or three extra nights of dancing before the week even begins. At the other end, the Mamboland ESM congress runs through Sunday, so book your flight home for the Monday at the earliest. The honest answer: get as many days in New York as your time and budget allow.

The week runs across two venues, both confirmed. Monday to Thursday, training is at Empire Dance Studio in midtown Manhattan. Friday to Sunday, the Mamboland ESM congress is at the New York Marriott Marquis on Broadway in Times Square.

No. The Mambo Experience Pass covers Monday to Thursday. The Full Experience Pass runs through Sunday. Most travelling attendees stay for the full week because the two halves are designed to connect.

A four-day mambo intensive in New York City — mambo being the New York style of salsa danced On2. Monday to Thursday you train inside one educational program with the same teachers and a track chosen for your level. It is not a congress and not a collection of unrelated workshops.

Thursday is the seminar day. Rather than another studio session it goes deep on mambo history and musicality — where this dance came from, how the music is built, and how to hear it. It is a training day, and the Mamboland ESM pre-party runs that evening. Times are confirmed closer to the event.

Mambo Experience runs 11am to 2:30pm Monday to Wednesday, then Thursday's history and musicality seminar — over twelve hours across the four days. The Mamboland ESM congress then runs workshops from 10am to 5pm, Friday to Sunday, so a Full Experience Pass is seven days on the floor in all. Thursday's seminar window is confirmed closer to the event.
