The Program

Train with intention.

Over twelve hours of training across four days — a mambo intensive taught by one team inside one curriculum, not a timetable of workshops you assemble yourself.

How a day works

One curriculum.
Built across the week.

Training runs 11am – 2:30pm, Monday through Wednesday, followed by our History & Musicality Seminar on Thursday.

This isn't a schedule of disconnected workshops. What begins on Monday develops throughout the week — with each session building on the concepts, movement and understanding from the day before.

  1. Built in blocks

Each training day is divided into two or three focused blocks depending on what the curriculum needs. Rather than rushing to finish a topic in one hour, we give concepts the time they need to develop.

  2. Everything connects

Technique, partnerwork and musicality aren't treated as separate subjects on separate days. We work with them together — because that's how you actually use them when you dance.

  3. One teaching team

The teachers work within one shared curriculum. Different perspectives and specialties are brought into the same learning process instead of becoming isolated workshops.

  4. Space to go deeper

Questions, discussion, guest teachers and additional context have room inside the program. Not everything valuable fits neatly into a one-hour class.

The 2027 program and schedule are subject to change. We reserve the right to make adjustments where they serve the training.

What you train

Build the dancer.
Not just the combination.

Eight areas of work, returned to across the four days rather than covered once and dropped.

01

Technique

Body mechanics and the movement quality underneath every step.

02

Partnerwork

Connection, lead and follow, and the dynamics between two dancers.

03

Footwork

Vocabulary, control and the expression you build on top of it.

04

Musicality

Timing, clave, phrasing and improvising with the orchestra.

05

Turns & Rotations

Mechanics, control and clean execution under speed.

06

Mambo Language

The classic vocabulary and the accent that makes it New York.

07

History & Culture

Where the dance came from, and why the city still shapes it.

08

Personal Feedback

What specifically will move your dancing forward from here.

A teacher leading a student through a turn while the class watches from a circle

Personal feedback

Someone is watching
you specifically.

Groups are kept small enough that teachers can see individuals, not a room. You leave knowing the one or two things that will actually move your dancing — not a folder of notes you never open.

Music, history and culture

Learn the music,
not just the counts.

Live percussion in the room, the structure of a mambo arrangement, and where this dance came from. Dancers who understand the music stop waiting for the beat and start answering it.

The week in depth

Choose your track

Choose the room that will
challenge you, not drown you.

Two serious training environments running in parallel. Master is not the better room — it is the faster, denser one. Picking the wrong track is the quickest way to waste your week.

Main Track

Intermediate – Advanced

50 spots only

Serious intermediate and advanced dancers ready to deepen their fundamentals and build stronger, cleaner execution.

You should be comfortable with

  • Comfortable with basics and body-movement mechanics
  • Can execute double and triple turns
  • Knows the mambo footwork and partnerwork syllabus
  • Basic understanding of mambo music structure

Not this room ifyou are still finding the basic step, or this is your first year of mambo. The room will move faster than is useful to you.

Master Track

Pro / Semi-pro

50 spots only

Highly experienced dancers, teachers and professionals ready for faster pacing and more advanced concepts.

You should be comfortable with

  • Precise command of basics and body mechanics
  • Understands music structure, clave, percussion and timing
  • Can execute triple and quadruple turns
  • Fluent in steps, patterns and their variations

Not this room ifyou are not already teaching, performing or dancing at a professional standard — Main Track will give you more. Master moves fast and does not stop to rebuild fundamentals.

Each track takes 50 dancers. Tracks and roles fill at different rates, and when one is full it is closed — book the room you want rather than waiting to decide.
