Which track?
You choose your track at checkout. Advanced is not the better room — it is the faster, denser one, and it is the one that needs a placement test. One test covers both the training and the Mamboland ESM Advanced Track.
Minimum level: Intermediate+

Open to every dancer who meets the Intermediate+ minimum level.
For experienced intermediate dancers and above who want to deepen their fundamentals, improve their understanding and build stronger, cleaner execution.
You should be comfortable with
ImportantThis track is not designed for beginners. If you are still developing your basic timing, basic step or fundamental On2 vocabulary, the pace will be faster than is useful for you.

For advanced and highly experienced dancers who are ready for faster pacing, greater complexity and more demanding material.
You should be comfortable with
The paceThis track moves fast. Fundamentals are refined and challenged rather than taught from the beginning.
Each track takes 50 dancers. Tracks and roles fill at different rates, and when one is full it is closed — book the room you want rather than waiting to decide.
Advanced placement
If you are joining both Mambo Experience and Mamboland ESM, you do not need to qualify twice.
The Advanced Track placement test is shared between Mambo Experience and Mamboland ESM.
Complete the test once. If you are accepted at the Advanced level, your placement is valid for both the Mambo Experience training and the Mamboland ESM Advanced Track over the congress weekend.
This creates one consistent Advanced level throughout your New York training experience.
When it happensPlacement is handled in May and June 2027, in the months before the training. Booking does not start a clock — choose Advanced when you book, and we come to you with the test when the time comes. There is nothing to prepare and nothing to send in the meantime.

We come to you in May and June 2027 with everything you need. There is nothing to prepare before then.

Receive your placement
You are placed in Advanced or in Main, and we tell you which room is yours well before you travel.

It carries over
An Advanced placement also applies to the Mamboland ESM Advanced Track.
Placement exists to build the right room, not to judge anyone. It lets the teachers work at an advanced level from the first hour, and it means every dancer trains at a pace they can actually learn from.

No. You register as an individual in your role, and you rotate through the room during partnerwork. Registration details for leader and follower balance are confirmed closer to the opening of sales.
Each track takes 50 dancers, and tracks and roles sell separately — Main can still have space when Advanced is full, or leads when follows are gone. Once a track or role is full it is closed; we open a waitlist and contact people in order as places free up, but a place is never guaranteed.
No. Passes are non-refundable, so please be sure of your dates before you book. If your plans change, write to us and we will tell you what is possible.
